Fertilizer

Coastal Lawn Care only uses the best fertilizer products available on the market. Nitrogen fertilizer should be applied in the late spring once your lawn has fully greened up, and again in the late summer. Our fertilizer also includes iron which enhances the color of your lawn.

Weed Control

Weed control in your lawn starts in the late winter when you should apply a Pre Emergent herbicide to prevent invasive weeds like crabgrass, goosegrass, and lespedeza from invading your lawn. Proper application requires knowledge that our staff at Coastal Lawn Care comes equipped with and licensing which requires continuing education in the field of turf and lawn management.

Insect Control

Insect control in the the lawn requires specific knowledge about when and what to apply to the lawn to ensure the best control of species that will cause damage to the lawn. Coastal Lawn Care uses broad spectrum insecticides that will give you control year round and allow your lawn to thrive without the threat of damage. Experience with chemical application is a must, and licensing is required. With our staff you can be sure to get both.

Late Winter Pre-Emergent Herbicide application/Insecticide

Late Winter Pre-Emergent Herbicide application/Insecticide

This is one of the most important lawn applications of the season. Start off with a weed control product that will prevent invasive weeds and make sure your lawn has room to grow. We also like to go ahead and mix in an insecticide with this lawn application because early spring is an active time for insects. Make sure to water this application into the lawn.

Late Spring Fertilizer application

A lot of lawn companies jump the gun when it comes to applying a fertilizer to the lawn. You never want to fertilize the lawn until it has fully greened up and is growing at it’s best. This way, you get the most bang for you buck as the lawn will not take up and use the nutrients in fertilizer if it is not growing at it’s best. In the Myrtle Beach climate this is usually around mid to late May. Our fertilizer includes a blend of nitrogen and potassium which are both essential nutrients for the lawn. Iron is also included which will give your lawn that green color that everybody loves.

Summer Weed Control

Weed control in the lawn can be a tricky business. It’s important that the lawn service you use is highly educated in the field and knows which weed control products can be safely applied to ensure the best results but also keep your lawn safe from damage. The products we use are commercial grade, and are guaranteed to give you the results that will safely remove weeds from your lawn.

Late Summer Fertilizer application

In the Myrtle Beach area, summers can be brutal on your lawn. Drought stress is one of the most common problems for the lawn but can avoided with another fertilizer application which will include potassium, a nutrient that encourages root growth and helps lawns survive the summer heat. Nitrogen and Iron are also included in this application which will keep your lawn growing and looking attractive.

Fall Pre-Emergent application

Finally, you want to wrap up your season with another application that will prevent weeds from growing over the winter and taking over your lawn while it is dormant. This is a very important application in that it will allow your lawn to come out of dormancy in the spring with room to grow and less weeds to compete with.
